The Chicago Blackhawks announced today that Rick Ball has been named the team's new television play-by-play announcer. Ball, a seasoned NHL broadcaster with over 20 years of experience, will replace Chris Vosters, who held the position for the past seven seasons.

"We are thrilled to welcome Rick to the Blackhawks family," said Blackhawks President of Business Operations Danny Wirtz. "His exceptional broadcasting skills, passion for the game, and deep knowledge of the NHL will undoubtedly enhance our fans' viewing experience."

Ball, a native of Toronto, Ontario, has covered the NHL for various networks, including Sportsnet, TSN, and NHL Network. He has called games for several teams, including the Maple Leafs, Senators, and Oilers.

Ball expressed his excitement about joining the Blackhawks organization. "I am honored to be part of such a historic and iconic franchise," Ball said. "I'm looking forward to calling Blackhawks games and sharing my passion for hockey with the Windy City faithful."

Ball's appointment comes after Vosters announced his departure from the Blackhawks in April. Vosters had been with the team since 2017 and received numerous accolades for his broadcasting work.
