Wildfire Spreads Rapidly, Threatening Communities

A wildfire in northern Wyoming spread rapidly on Wednesday, forcing evacuations and threatening homes and businesses.

The wildfire, located about 11 miles east of Custer, South Dakota, grew to more than 5000 acres by Wednesday afternoon.

Evacuations Ordered As Fire Spreads

As the fire spread, authorities ordered evacuations for several communities in the area, including Custer and Pringle.

Residents were urged to leave their homes and seek shelter elsewhere.

Firefighters Battle Blaze

Firefighters from multiple agencies are battling the blaze, but the strong winds and dry conditions are making it difficult to contain.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
