Former UNC linebacker Tomon Fox returns to the New York Giants practice squad
Former University of North Carolina standout linebacker Tomon Fox is back with the New York Giants, signing with the team's practice squad.
Fox, who was originally signed by the Giants as an undrafted free agent in 2017, spent the 2020 season on the team's practice squad. He was released by the Giants in August 2021 but re-signed to the team's practice squad on October 26, 2021.
Fox appeared in two games for the Giants in 2020, recording one tackle. He has also spent time on the practice squads of the Los Angeles Rams and Arizona Cardinals.
Fox was a standout linebacker for the Tar Heels, starting 33 games over four seasons and finishing his career with 205 tackles, 17.5 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, two interceptions, and two forced fumbles.
Fox is expected to provide depth to the Giants' linebacking corps, which has been hit by injuries this season.
The Giants are currently 3-7 and are in last place in the NFC East.
